Semantic Web Blogs
My semantic web blog list is very much a work in progress. I currently subscribe to some 200 blogs, and I'm still adding new blogs and annotations. So don't fret if your blog isn't listed here yet – it may well appear soon!
I also actively maintain a list of semantic web people (and organizations) on Twitter.
Note (19 June 2013): It's been quite a while since I updated this list, and I have additions and modifications to make. Say tuned!
Picks of the Litter
For regularly-updated semantic web news and commentary, semanticweb.com (@semanticweb_com) is virtually the only game in town. As more of a marketer than a technologist, I particularly appreciate the clarity of posts by chief contributor Jennifer Zaino (@jenz514) – the articles are readily digestible for a non-geek without being dumbed-down. A great site, and a great service to the semantic web community.
- Read Write Web
While ReadWriteWeb (@rww) is a wide ranging technology blog, it frequently posts industry news directly or indirectly related to semantic web topics. Stellar contributors, most notably editor and workhorse Richard MacManus (tweets as @rww) and co-editor Marshall Kirkpatrick (@marshallk).
The tagline really says it all: "thoughts, opinions and ideas on semantic technologies." Interesting perspectives on the semantic web by Luca Scagliarini (@scagliarini) and more occasional contributors J. Brooke Aker, Marco Varone and Rita Joseph.
Other Notable Semantic Blogs
While this blog by Guardian News & Media Information Architect Martin Belam (@currybet) is ostensibly about "information architecture, journalism and digital media," Belam regularly delves into issues surrounding the employment of structured data, particularly its real-life employment on sites such as the Guardian and BBC – as well as issues pertaining to open/linked data. Regular round-ups and effusive outlinking make this a great site to discover others.
